About the talk: A consensus in favor of dynamism, change, and openness has dominated the West since the end of World War II. It disparaged the conservative commitment to continuity and permanence. But the winds of change are blowing. Liberal ascendancy has produced a liquid world. Rising populism indicates a growing desire for the restoration of stable and solid foundations. Priority is shifting away from liberalism’s priorities and toward conservative goals. The West hungers for permanent things, and this hunger will reshape our political culture in the coming decades.
